BNP Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday blamed Awami League governments subservient foreign policy and unplanned development for the peoples sufferings.

Speaking at a press conference at BNPs  Naya Paltan office he said, "Awami League was in power without votes by compromising with evil forces within the country and abroad."

"Their subservient foreign and domestic  policies threw the people into crisis,"  he said.

"This government compromised sovereignty and turned the country into a haven of corrupt people. They cut peoples pocket in the name of mega projects and so called development," he said.

Rizvi said that the floods aggravated  in Sylhet, Sunamganj and Moulvibazar due to the governments failure to tackle the situation.

He said, "Fish and crops have been washed away. Flood affected people are not getting safe shelter.

He said, "The flood affected people are suffering due to the governments wrong policy.

Rizvi said, "This government cannot ensure  national prosperity."

He said no relief materials were sent by the government to the people marooned by floods in  Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions.

"Marooned people are spending their days in helpless condition," he said.

Rizvi said the ruling party has established a reign of terror.

"On the night of Eid, two bike riders were dragged from their houses and killed by stabbing and spraying bullets by the cadres of an Awami League leader in Bogura."

He said this incident occurred after the bikers collided with the car of a ruling party leaders expatriate daughter.

"The joyous festival of Eid has also been politicised with the spirit of Baksal (one-party governing system).

The Awami cadres celebrated the festival through the frenzy of killing people on the day of Eid," he said.
