Housewife commits suicide in Barishal

BARISHAL, June 21: A housewife reportedly committed suicide in Agailjhara Upazila of the district recently.

The incident took place in Poysa Village under Bakal Union of the upazila.
 
The deceased was identified as Iti Bepari, 42, wife of Atul Bepari, a resident of the area.

The deceaseds son Asim Bepari said his mother had an altercation with his father over family issues. Following this, his mother hanged himself from the ceiling of her room in the house out of huff with her husband.
 
Sensing the matter, the family members rescued her and rushed to Agailjhara Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Agailjhara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Jahirul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
