Madrasa teacher held for raping student in Chuadanga

Police arrested a madrasa teacher following allegations of molesting a student at Azizul Ulum Qawmi Madrasa and Orphanage in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga on Saturday night.

The accused, Abdus Salam, reportedly molested the student near the madrasa's restroom and warned him not to disclose the incident to anyone, according to the case statement. 

The harassment continued even before the student went home for the Eid holidays.

The incident brought to light when the student did not want to go back to the madrasa after the holidays. He revealed the abuse when his family members pressured him for going to madrasa.  
The student's father subsequently filed a case against Abdus Salam with the local police station. 
On information, a team police arrested the teacher and took him to Alamdanga Police Station, said Sheikh Abdul Gani, officer in charge of Alamdanga Police Station.
