75th founding anniv of AL celebrated in dists

The 75th founding anniversary of ruling Awami League (AL), which led achieving countrys independence through the Great Liberation War in 1971, was celebrated on Sunday across the country in a befitting manner.
The party was established on June 23 in 1949 as Awami Muslim League at the Rose Garden in the capitals old part. But, later, it appeared as Bangladesh AL to have a secular look.
The AL is one of the oldest, non-communal, largest and leading political parties in the country. And the work of building a non-communal Bangladesh was first initiated by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in districts including Bogura, Gopalganj, Joypurhat, Khulna, Kishoreganj, Moulvibazar, Netrakona, Narayanganj, Pirojpur, Rangamati and Thakurgaon.
BOGURA: District AL organized different programmes in the town on the occasion of the Day.
The Days programme began with hoisting of the national and the party flags on the District AL Office premises in the town at around 8 am.
After that, wreaths were placed on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman there.
A colourful rally was brought out at around 12 pm, which paraded the main streets of the town.
Later on, a discussion meeting on the significance of the Day was held at Mujib Mancha at Satmatha in the town with District AL President Mojibor Rahman Mojnu, MP, from Bogura-5 Constituency.
District AL General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, MP, from Bogura-6 Constituency, Vice-Presidents Abul Kalam Azad, Advocate Abdul Matin, Dr Moqbul Hossain, Advocate Aman Ullah and Sagar Kumar Roy, Joint GS Asadur Rahman Dulu, and Organizing Secretary Shahadat Alam Jhunu, among others, also spoke at the meeting.
GOPALGANJ: To mark the Day, different programmes were organized at Tungipara in the district.
Wreaths were placed on the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at around 11 am.
Later on, a discussion meeting was held there.
Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Lt Col (rtrd) Muhammad Faruk Khan, MP, AL Central Committee Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, MP, Convenor of Chattogram Hill Tracts Peace Accord Implementation Committee Abul Hasanat Abdullah, District AL President Mahabub Ali Khan, its GS GM Shahab Uddin Azam and other senior leaders of the party were also present at that time.
Besides, a special munajat was also offered there seeking the eternal peace for the department souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members.
JOYPURHAT: In this connection, different programmes were organized in the district.
The Days programme began with hoisting of the national and the party flags on the District AL Office premises in the town in the morning.
After that, wreaths were placed on the portrait of Bangabandhu there. A special munajat was also offered there seeking the eternal peace for the department souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members.  
Later on, a rally was brought out, which paraded the main streets of the town.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the District AL Office.
Advocate Shamsul Alam Dudu, MP, from Joypurhat-1 Constituency, spoke as the chief guest at the meeting presided over by District AL President Arifur Rahman Rocket.
District AL Senior Vice-Presidents SM Solaiman Ali and Golam Hakkani, its GS Md Jakir Hossain Mandal, Organizing Secretary Shekhat Majumder, Office Secretary Mizanur Rahman, and Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Hasanuzzaman Mithu, among others, were also present at the programme.
KHULNA: Khulna City and District units of AL on Sunday organized different programmes marking the partys 75th founding anniversary.
The programmes included hoisting of the national and the party flags atop the party office, paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreath on the portrait of the Father of the Nation at the AL office, bringing out colourful rally, holding discussion meeting, and arranging cake cutting ceremony.
After laying the wreath in the morning, AL leaders led by Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque stood in solemn silence for some times as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu.
Later on, flanked by the partys senior leaders, Khaleque, also president of the city unit AL, brought out a rally, which paraded different streets in the city.
Afterward, a discussion meeting was held at the party office chaired by KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque. City AL GS MDA Babul Rana, and former parliament member Mizanur Rahman Mizan, among others, also spoke there.
The KCC mayor discussed the glorious history of AL that brought independence for the nation under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Khaleque narrated the superb record of struggles of AL and said that the country achieved Independence by winning the War of Liberation in 1971 against the Pakistani occupation forces under the leadership of Bangabandhu.
He said, "Bangabandhu and AL are inseparable as never-ending sources of inspirations and the nation continues building a smart and developed Sonar Bangla under leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The KCC mayor urged the leaders and activits of the party to remain united and inform them about the massive development conducted by the AL-led government in the last 15 years ensuring welfare of common people as dreamed by Bangabandhu.
Meanwhile, District AL also observed the 75th founding anniversary separately in a befitting manner.
District AL President Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid led a rally, which was brought out in the morning and paraded the main streets of the city. Later on, a discussion meeting was held with him in the chair.
KISHOREGANJ: On the occasion of the Day, District AL organized different programmes in the town.
Wreaths were placed on the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders in the morning.
Later on, a rally was brought out, which paraded the main streets of the town.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held at District AL Office.
District AL President Advocate Md Zillur Rahman presided over the meeting.
District AL Vice-President Advocate Sheikh AKM Nurunnabi Badal, its GS Advocate MA Afzol, Joint GS Syed Ashfaqul Islam Tito, Relief & Rehabilitation Secretary Md Nurul Islam Nuru, Forest & Environment Affairs Secretary Anayet Karim Omi, Religion Affairs Secretary AKM Shamsul Islam Khan Masum, District Mohila AL GS Bilkis Begum, District Krishak League GS Anwar Hossain Bacchu, District Sramik League GS Abul Hossain Akanda, and District Chhatra League GS Foyez Oman Khan, among others, also spoke at the programme.
MOULVIBAZAR: In this connection, different programmes were organized in the district.
A discussion meeting on the significance of the Day was held at Moulvibazar Municipal Janamilan Kendra in the town at noon.
District AL organized the meeting with its President Nesar Ahmed in the chair.
District AL GS Misbahur Rahman conducted the programme.
District AL Vice-President Azmal Hossain, Moulvibazar Municipal Mayor Md Fazlur Rahman, District AL Joint GS Md Kamal Hossain, its Organizing Secretary Advocate Radhapada Deb Sajal, Sadar Upazila AL President Akbar Ali, and Vice-President of United Kingdom Unit of AL MA Rahim, among others, also spoke at that time.
Earlier, a rally was brought out in the morning, which paraded the main streets of the town.
Besides, a cake has also been cut marking the founding anniversary of the AL.
NETRAKONA: On this occasion, District AL organized a three-day programme in the town.
The programmes began with hoisting of the national and the party flags on the District AL Office premises in the town on Sunday morning.
Wreaths were then placed on the portrait of Bangabandhu there.
Freedom Fighter (FF) Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, MP, District AL President Advocate Amirul Islam, Vice-Presidents Nazrul Islam Khan, Prashanta Kumar Roy and Nur Khan Mithu, and GS Advocate Shamsur Rahman Liton, among others, also paid homage to Bangabandhu.
A rally was brought from the District AL Office premises at around 10 am, which paraded the main streets of the town.
Later on, a discussion meeting was held at the local Shaheed Minar at Chhota Bazar in the district town.
District AL President Advocate Amirul Islam presided over the meeting.  
NARAYANGANJ: Sonargaon Upazila AL in the district celebrated the 75th founding anniversary of the AL through colourful arrangements on Sunday.
On the occasion of the Day, different programmes were organized here in front of the upazila AL Office in the morning.
The programmes included holding a discussion meeting, hoisting of the national and the party flags, flying of colourful balloons and pigeons, and bringing out a colourful rally.
Narayanganj District AL President Abdul Hai was present as the chief guest and its GS Advocate Abu Hasnat Shaheed Md Badal was the special guest in the function presided over by Engineer Masudur Rahman Masum, acting president of Sonargaon Upazila Unit of the AL.
Abdullah -Al -Kaisar, MP, from Narayanganj-3 Constituency, was present as the keynote speaker at the discussion.
Sonargaon Upazila AL Joint GS Ashrafuzzaman, its Organizing Secretary Sohag Roni, Union Parishad members (UP) Arif Masud Babu, Zahid Hasan Jinnah and Lion Mahbubur Rahman Babul, Sonargaon Upazila Juba League President Rafiqul Islam Nannu, and its GS Mohammad Ali Haider, among others, also spoke at the meeting.
Chairmen of various UPs of the upazila, leaders and activists of the AL and its allied organizations and the FFs in the upazila were also present there on this occasion of the Day.
PIROJPUR: To mark the Day, District AL organized different programmes in the town.
The Days programme began with hoisting of the national and the party flags atop the party office early in the morning.
Wreaths were placed then on the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman there.
Later on, a colourful rally was brought out from Gopal Krishna Town Club premises, and it ended at the same place after parading the main streets of the town.
District AL President FF Akma Awal inaugurated the rally. District AL GS Advocate Kanilal Biswas and its Joint GS Mujibur Rahman Khaleq, among others, also addressed the rally.
RANGAMATI: A day-long programme was organized in the district on the occasion of the Day.
A colourful rally was brought from the Zilla Parishad premises in the morning, and it ended on the Rangamati Municipality Office premises after parading the main streets of the town.
Dipankar Talukdar, MP, inaugurated the rally.
Later on, a discussion meeting was held on the Municipality Office premises.

District AL Vice-Presidents Chingkiu Royaza, Brishketu Chakma, and Angsuipru Chowdhury, also chairman of the Zilla Parishad, and GS Hazi Md Musa Matabbar, among others, were also present at the programme.  
Besides, Dipankar Talukdar, MP, also handed over crests to the senior leaders of the District AL for their outstanding contribution in politics at that time.
THAKURGAON: To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in the district.
The Days programme began with placing wreaths on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
District AL organized a discussion meeting on the occasion of the ALs 75th founding anniversary in the town at noon.
Former Minister for Water Resources Ramesh Chandra Sen, MP, from Thakurgaon-1 Constituency, spoke at the programme as the chief guest.
Mazharul Islam Suzon, MP, from Thakurgaon-2 Constituency, and
Draupadi Devi Agarwala, MP, from reserved seats, attended the programme as special guests.
District AL President FF Mahbubur Rahman Bablu presided over the programme.
District AL Vice-President Mahbubur Rahman Khokon, its GS Dipak Kumar Roy, Zilla Parishad Chairman and District Juba League President Abdul Majid Apple, Joint GS ASM Golam Faruque Rubel, Organizing Secretary Julfikar Ali, Publicity and Publication Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Ripon, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Mosharul Islam Sarker, Sadar Upazila AL President and former chairman of the Upazila Parishad Advocate Arunangshu Dutta Tito, District Juba League GS Debashish Dutta Samir, District Shecchashebak League President Nazmul Huda Shah Apollo, District Mohila AL GS Monwara Chowdhury, Juba Mohila League President Nazira Akhter Swapna, and District Shramik League GS Anwarul Islam, among others, were also present there at that time.
