Tractor driver killed in Jamalpur road accident

A tractor driver was killed after being hit by a Dhaka- bound commuter train in Islampur Upazila in Jamalpur district on Sunday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Bhutto Miah, 40 son of Panawala, a resident of Shashariabari village in the upazila.

A commuter train from Dewanganj Bazar station hit the tractor, carrying brick, while it was crossing a level crossing near Mosharafganj railway station, said Suman Talukdar, officer in-charge of Islampur Police Station.

In the accident, Bhutto Miah was injured critically. Later. he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Mymensingh Medical College hospital at night, the OC added.
