Woman killed by lightning strike in Panchagarh

A woman died after being struck by lightning in Panchagarh's Sadar upazila on Monday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Sollo Bala, 50, wife of Jogesh Chandra Ray, a resident of Ghagrapra village under Harivasa union in the upazila.  

Gobindo Chandra Ray, deceased's younger brother, told to media that Sollo Bala was struck by lightning while she went to tube-well amid rain, leaving her critically injured.   

Family members rescued her and took her to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared her dead. 
Confirming it Prodip Kumar Roy, officer in-charge of Panchagarh Sadar Police Station, said a general diary has been recorded with the police station in this regard.
