The Physical Education and Sports Science department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia took its first-day practical admission test on Tuesday for the 2023–24 academic session.
The test was held at the cricket ground on campus from 10:00 am.
A total of 685 candidates applied for the practical test. The test will be conducted on two days including Tuesday, divided into two groups. Only 38 candidates participated in the practical test on the first day. The practical test event included a 60-meter and 200-meter sprint and a flexibility test.
The university Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, registrar (acting) HM Ali Hasan, Physical Education and Sports Science department chairman Professor Dr Debashish Sharma, proctor Professor Dr Shahadat Hossain Azad, student adviser Professor Dr Baki Billah, and physical education division director (acting) Shah Alam visited the practical test.
Professor Dr Debashish Sharma, chairman of the department, said, ‘The two-day practical test has started today. A total of 685 aspirants apply for the test, but the attendance of applicants is minimal. The attendance percentage of the aspirants will be disclosed tomorrow after completing the test.’
