The Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended to send former additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of DMP Golam Saklain Shithil on forced retirement over an extramarital relationship with actress Pori Moni. At that time, he held the post of ADC of Detective Branch of police Gulshan division.

The recommendation on his forced retirement was sent to the government from Home Ministry on June 13 which was signed by Deputy Secretary Rokeya Parvin Jui. Later, the government took a decision to send him on forced retirement over Pori Moni scandal.
When Saqlain and Pori Monis relationship came to light, Saqlain was transferred to the DMPs Public Order Management (POM), West Division, from the Detective Branch. Later, he was transferred to In Service Training Centre in Jhenidah.

A CCTV footage making rounds on social media shows Pori Moni and Saqlain getting out of a car together in the morning on August 1, 2021. Saqlain was seen going inside the lift with her, carrying a trolley bag.

According to the Home Ministry letter, a forensic report of Pori Monis mobile phone found that messages were exchanged between him and Pori Moni (from July 29, 2021, to August 3, 2021) on Facebook Messenger under the names Samsunnahar Smriti aka Pori Moni, and Golam Saklain Shithil.
