4 death-row convicts escape from Bogura jail, later arrested

Four condemned convicts escaped from the Bogura District Jail early Wednesday by drilling a hole on the roof.

But, after few hours, police managed to arrest them from nearby areas.

According to jailer Mohammad Faridur Rahman, "All the four are death-row convicts. They escaped from the prison but we found them at nearby areas."
The inmates were taken to DB office, said a relevant source.

Additional superintendent of Bogura police (administration and finance) Md Snikdha Akhtar said, "This is a very sensitive issue and the SP will brief the details."
Superintendent of Bogura Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty said the four convicts were accused in a murder case. They are Nazrul, 68, of Kurigram, Amir Hamza, 41, of Narsingdi, Abdul Mannan, 34, and Farid Sheikh, 30, of Bogura.
