4 minors drown in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar

Four minor children drowned in separate incidents in three districts - Rangpur, Mymensingh and Moulvibazar, in three days.
RANGPUR: Two minor children drowned in the Ghaghat River in in Sadar Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Bhurarghat section of the river in the afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Azmain, 11, daughter of Anisul Islam, and Jim, 7, son of Jim Ratan Mia. Both of them were residents of the area. Azmain was a fourth grader of local North Bengal Ideal School and College while Jim studied in class one at the same institution.
Rangpur Fire Service diving team leader Ataur Rahman said that the two children went missing in the river in Bhurarghat area of the upazila in the afternoon while they were bathing in it.
On information, the Fire Service personnel rushed in and recovered the bodies of the duo from the river after conducting a long search.
The bodies were handed over to the deceaseds families, the Fire Service official added.
GAFARGAON, MYMENSINGH: A minor child drowned in the Shila River in Gafargaon Upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Faruque, 9, son of Nazmul Haque and a third grade student of a kindergarten in Gazipur.
According to the deceaseds family members, Faruque along with his family members went to his grandfathers house in Sandain Village under Rasulpur Union of the upazila on the vacation of the Eid-ul-Azha. On Tuesday afternoon, he along with others went to the river to take bath. At one stage of bathing, he drowned there.
After getting no response from him for a while, the family members started searching for him but failed, and then informed the firefighters.
On information, a team from Gafargaon Fire Service and Civil Defence Station rushed there and recovered the body of the child.
KULAURA, MOULVIBAZAR: A minor boy drowned in the floodwater in Kulaura Upazila of the district on Monday.
The incident took place in Bhukshimail Union of the upazila at noon.
The deceased was identified as Abu Sayeed Ahmed Redwan, 6, son of Nasir Mia, a resident of Muktajipur Village under Bhukshimail Union in the upazila.
It was known that Redwan fell in the floodwater in the village at noon and drowned there while his family members were unaware of it.
Later on, the family members recovered his body.
Bhukshimail Union Parishad Chairman Azizur Rahman Monir confirmed the incident.
