USAID Bijoyee Soft Skills Training Packages launched in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 27: USAID Bijoyee Project has developed Soft Skills Training Packages for the participants of the Project. One of the Packages, Soft Skills Training Manual for the NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Youth has been launched in Rangpur.

On Thursday, one of the implementing partners of the project, Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) arranged a launching event at the Parjatan Motel in Rangpur. The Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Rangpur, Mohammad Mobasswer Hasan, attended the event as chief guest and launched the packages.

He said, "USAID has funded in an excellent and effective sector. By 2041 we want to take Bangladesh to a place where we need to make ourselves better and more efficient. Our youth have a long way to go with support from their surroundings, USAID Bijoyee Projects will play a very effective role in this journey."

Hasan Ali, Manager of Human Resource Department of PRAN-RFL Group, participated in the event as a representative of a private organization. He said, "The youth who received soft skills training by the USAID Bijoyee Project will get priority in getting jobs in his company." At the same time he emphasized on imparting soft skills training to the existing employees as well.

Soft Skills refer to interpersonal skills, social skills, communication abilities, character traits, attitudes, career attributes, and emotional intelligence quotient (EQ). These skills are essential for effectively interacting with others and performing well in the workplace. The soft skills training packages will support the targeted youth in Bangladesh in achieving those skills and becoming job market-ready individuals or successful entrepreneurs.    

The event was chaired by Amiya Prapan Chakraborty, Chief Executive Officer of Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation. He said, "Only the youth can overcome all obstacles. Through this Bijoyee Project the youth will build a humane, inclusive and unemployment free Bangladesh".

Mohammad Abdul Farooq, Deputy Director of Youth Development Department, Mohammad Echanul Haque, Deputy General Manager of BSIC and  Maruf Azam, Senior Team Leader, Care Bangladesh were present as special guests. Also, representatives of local youth organizations, representatives from private companies, corporates, successful entrepreneurs, representatives of chamber of commerce and representatives of civil society were present at the event.

The five-year Bijoyee Project aims to equip youth, especially NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) individuals, women, and marginalized communities, with essential soft skills for employment or entrepreneurship opportunities.
