Man dies after being hit by train in Chuadanga

A mentally challenged man died after being hit by the Dhaka-bound Maitree Express train in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district on Friday morning.

The incident happened at around 11:30 am near Chhotadhupatila unguarded railway gate under Hauli union in the upazila. 

The deceased was identified as Alamin Hossain, 29, son of Zhantu Ali, a resident of Dihi Krishnapur area under Darshana police Station.

Locals said the Dhaka-bound Maitree Express train from Kolkata hit Alamin while he was crossing the rail line in the area, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for autopsy, said Ataur Rahman, in-charge of Darshana Railway Police. 

Legal process is underway in this regard, he added.
