A man was killed in a collision between a pickup van and a covered van on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Raipura upazila in
Narsingdi district on Friday afternoon.
The
accident took place around 1.30pm at Mahbudabad Namapara area on the highway.

According to witnesses, the courier service's covered van from Dhaka collided head-on with a goods-laden pickup van in the area due to overspeeding. The pickup van driver was killed in the spot and his associate was critically injured.
Locals rescued the injured helper Foysal, 23, and took him to nearby Bhiarab Upazila Health Complex.
On information, fire service personnel recovered the body from the spot and handed over to police, said Md Rashed, a leader of Bhairab Fires Service Station.
Bahirab Highway Police Station sergeant Saker Ahmed confirmed the death matter and added that police seized the both vehicles from the spot and efforts are underway to arrest the involved persons.
