Chuadanga UP chairman stabbed with sharp weapons

A Union Parishad Chairman was reportedly stabbed with sharp weapons by unidentified criminals in Jibannagar Upazila of Chuadanga on Friday night.

The victim Sohrab Hossain Khan was chairman of the Manoharpur Union of the district.

According to Zahirul Islam, a member of Ward No. 2 of the same union, Sohrab was going home on a motorcycle around 8pm from Ala More. Two miscreants wearing mask on a bike coming from the opposite direction hit the chairman with a sharp knife on the back and ran away.

Critically injured Sohrab was rushed to Jibonnagar Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Jashore Medical College Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jibannagar Police Station SM Javeed Hasan said that Sohrab was stabbed three times with a sharp weapon on his back. Police are investigating the incident.
