Police have
arrested a physiotherapy doctor in a case filed for raping a teenage
domestic help and, later, circulated the video on social media in
Gazipur's Sreepur upazila.
The arrested is Farhad Uzzaman, 38.
He was arrested from his chamber in Markaz Mosque Road (Kancha Bazar) area of Sreepur municipality.
The victim's mother filed a case with Sreepur Police Station on Saturday, said OC Akbar Ali Khan.
The doctor will be sent to Gazipur court today.
According to the case statement, the doctor repeatedly violated the teenage girl, threatening to upload videos of the incidents on social media.
When the domestic help informed the matter to her mother, she took her away from the doctor's house. However, the doctor continued to threaten them with the videos.
Later, a family member informed them about a video circulating on social media, prompting the girl's mother to file a case.
The victim has been sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for medical tests.
