The road communication on the Bandarban-Ruma route remained suspended as hill slides occurred  due to heavy rain in Bandarban.

Vehicles movement stopped on the route after soil covered two places due to landslides on Monday afternoon.

"Fire Service personnel and members of the Bangladesh Army are working to clear the road, which has been blocked in several places due to landslides caused by heavy rainfall over the last two days," said Md Atikur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Ruma upazila.

He added that the road will soon be passable for vehicles.
