Showcasing a never-seen-before collaboration of some of the popular literary characters in Bengali literature, a new drama series titled 'Emon Je Hoto' will be launched tonight on private television channel Maasranga Television.

Starting from tonight (July 1), the drama will be aired every Sunday to Thursday at 7:30 pm.
The uniqueness of this particular drama is that despite showcasing iconic characters like Kuber and Kapila from Manik Bandhopadhhyay’s everlasting novel ‘Padma Nadir Majhi’, Majid from Syed Waliullah’s ‘Lalsalu’, Devdas from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel ‘Devdas’, and historic characters such as Gopal Bhar and Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah, to name a few - the entire drama was shot in Pattaya, Bangkok, UNB reports.

The drama has already created a buzz among the netizens, due to its unique approach of ‘breaking the fourth wall’ with popular Bengali literary characters.

Featuring a bunch of popular television stars including Tania Ahmed, Azad Abul Kalam, Farhan Ahmed Jovan, Tawsif Mahbub, Mishu Sabbir, Keya Payel, Samira Khan Mahi, Toya, Chashi Alam, Shaju Khadem, Shatabdi Wadud, Mukit Zakaria and others, the drama is written by Rajibul Islam Rajib and directed jointly by Abu Hayat Mahmud and Saidur Rahman Russell.

Regarding the drama serial, director Abu Hayat Mahmud said, "This is the first time that an entire serial has been shot outside the country with so many stars. Shot at various scenic locations in Pattaya, our motif was to present the historical and popular characters of Bengali literature in a unique way, and we hope our audiences will like it."
