BFSA signs year-long deal with Actor, Lawmaker Ferdous

Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) on Sunday signed a one-year contract with MP and film actor Ferdous Ahmed in an effort to expand the activities of the BFSA and reach out to the public extensively.

The signing event was presided over by BFSA Chairman Zakaria at BFSA conference room. He hoped that the Food Safety Authority would advance significantly with the involvement of MP Ferdous Ahmed.

Speaking as the chief guest at the contract signing ceremony, Ferdous said: "When have been involved with BFSA to engage the  people in the fields, at the grassroots, and in various communities to advance the food safety initiatives."
"Those who adulterate food will not change in one day. It is a long-term practice. Therefore, the work for safe food movement must be done more diligently and effectively," he said.

Expressing hope for more active involvement in the safe food movement, he said, "Awareness activities should not be confined to Dhaka but also be conducted in other divisions and districts."
In his welcome speech, BFSA member Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman stated, "As a result of this contract, the image of the Food Safety Authority will be further enhanced among the public."

It is worth mentioning that in the last fiscal year, 2023-24, Ferdous Ahmed first started working as a goodwill ambassador for the BSFA. He has been reappointed as a goodwill ambassador for the fiscal year 2024-25. The event was conducted by the authoritys director, Md. Mizanur Rahman, says a press release.
