Tk 1 crore embezzlement in Ctg: shop manager's associate sent to jail

The manager of a shop Md Abdul Qadir ran away with Tk 1 crore 8 thousand from the cash of the shop M/s Tayyabia Farm of Falmondi Railway Men's Super Market in Chattogram city.

After manager Abdul Qadir deposited the money with his associate Masudul Alam and fled the country to India. 

However, manager Abdul Qadir escaped but his associate Md. Masudul Alam was arrested by Kotwali police station. At that time, the police recovered Tk 96,80,000 from him.

The arrested was Md Masudul Alam, 30, a resident of Gahira Raipur union under Anwara upazila in Chattogram district. 
Kotwali police station officer-in-charge SM Obayedul Haque confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

According to police sources, on June 28, manager Abdul Qadir ran away with Tk 1 crore and 8 thousand from the cash of the business establishment of M/s Tayyabia Farm of Falmondi Railway Men's Super Market. A case was filed in Kotwali police station on June 29 in this incident.

Then, with the help of information technology, Tk 96,80,000 was recovered from Bolirhat Shalbon residential area under ​​Baklia Police Station and Gahira Dobashi Bazar Beribandh area of ​​Anwara Upazila.

The investigation officer of the case, Md Musharraf Hossain, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, told Daily Observer that an associate of the manager has been arrested in connection with embezzlement of the shop's money. 

He also said that Tk 96 lakh 80 thousand was recovered from him at that time. Abdul Qadir, the main accused, has not been arrested yet. An operation is underway to arrest him.
