Ctg-Khagrachhari road communication resumes after 4 hours

The road communication of Khagrachhari with Dhaka and Chattogram resumed four hours after it was suspended due to a landslide in Khagrachhari caused by heavy rains on Tuesday morning. 

The incident occurred in Sapahar area in Khagrachhari at around 5:00 am, said Jasim Uddin, a  fire service official of Khagrachhari.

The traffic movement became normal after the Fire Service and local administration cleared the road at around 9:00 am.
 
It is reported that the landslide occurred due to heavy rains. Many vehicles remained stuck on both sides of the road.
 
There are risks of more landslides in different parts of the district as incessant rains in the district for the last few days.
