Dear Sir

When the members of the ruling party in the parliament are vocal about the corruption of the government officials, it is heard that the provision of submitting the statement of increase and decrease in the assets of the government employees every 5 years is being relaxed.

The last time civil servants gave their wealth statement was in 2008 during the caretaker government. After that, although the accounts of assets are supposed to be given in 2013, 2018 and 2023, during the long 15-year rule of Awami League, the government officials and employees have not submitted those accounts even once.

As a result, the initiative to take account of their assets was not implemented. Corruption in this country is not only done by government officials and employees. Politicians also have such a record of corruption. Therefore, we hope that the government ministers and parliamentarians will prove their transparency by submitting the asset account.
