Police arrested a young man over raping a six-year-old child from Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur district on Thursday night.
The arrested man is Sazu Miah, 25, a resident of Loharbondo village in the upazila.
The incident happened at Loharbondo under Ghoraghatt upazila in the district on Thursday afternoon (July 2).
It was learnt that the accused took the victim tactfully in his house while the girl returning home from her friend's house on Thursday (July 2). Then, he raped the girl forcefully as there were no one in the house.
After. the girl returned her home with bleeding and she was taken to a local clinic. Later, she was referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as her condition deteriorated.
On Thursday night (July 4), victim's father lodge a case in this regard with Ghoraghat Police Station.
Following the case, police arrested the accused at night and he was later sent to jail, said Asaduzzaman Asad, officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station.
