Kalibari Village becomes popular as village of jackfruits

AMTALI, BARGUNA, July 5:  Kalibari Village at Gulishakhali Union in Amtali Upazila of the district is now known as Kanthalbari Village for wide scale jackfruit cultivation.

Along both sides of road in the village, jackfruit trees have been planted in line by line.

At present, there are jackfruits and jackfruits hanging from trees after trees. Smells of ripe jackfruits are spreading everywhere.

Gulishakhali Union Chairman Advocate HM Manirul Islam said, all dwellers of the village have planted jackfruit trees.

Jackfruit trees are available along both sides of the road, ranging from Yunus Ali Khan Degree College to Tulatuli Bus Stand.
 
Now the village looks decorative for these jackfruit trees. The local nature has also been attractive.

These trees need no extra care; these yield fruits naturally, requiring no fertiliser or chemical.

 Jackfruits also ripe naturally, said garden owner Md Abu Zafar, Bsc.

Villagers make a good earning by selling jackfruits yearly, he added.

Amtali Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Isa Iqbal said, jackfruits yield good in Kanthalbari Village; on hobby, all people of the village have planted jackfruit trees; jackfruits have yielded in cluster form.
