Couple found hanging in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, July 5: A man and his wife were found hanging in their house in Sadar Upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Md Dawud Sheikh, 45, and his wife Soheli Akter Lucky, 38, residents of Baitpur Village under Bemrata Union in the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bagerhat Model Police Station Md Saidur Rahman said that 10-year-old Siyam, son of the couple, noticed the bodies of his parents hanging from the ceiling of a room in the house on Thursday and informed his other family members. Subsequently, they then informed the matter to police.  

Being informed, police rushed there and recovered the bodies of the couple from the scene.

Later on, the bodies were sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsies.

However, the law enforcers are investigating the matter and necessary steps would be taken in this regard, the OC added.
