Woman killed in Joypurhat road accident

A woman was killed in a road accident on the Joypurhat-Bogura highway in Hichmi area in Joypurhat's Sadar upazila on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Rabeya Begum, 60, a resident of Paikar village in the upazila.

The accident occurred in the area as a truck hit her when she was walking to the Hichmi Bazar on the side Joypurhat-Bogura highway around 12:30, leaving her critically injured.

The injured was taken to Joypurhat General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead, he said.

Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station, said a case was filed in this connection.
