Police have recovered the body of a female garment worker from East Narsinghpur area of Ashulia union in Savar upazila on Saturday afternoon.

A diary was found next to the body, indicating a planned joint suicide with her husband, Habibur Rahman Anik, 27, who went missing since the incident.
The body of Jahanara Khatun Jannati, 22, was discovered around 5:30pm on Saturday in a rented house in the area.

Police suspected that Jannati might have been murdered by her husband, who then fled the scene.

Jahanara Khatun Jannati hailed from Uttar Bholanathpur village in Chirirbandar Upazila of Dinajpur, while her husband Habibur Rahman Anik is from Dighulia Dakshinpara area in Faridpur Upazila of Pabna district. They were living in the rented house at Ashulia union of the upazila and working at a local garment factory.

Ashulia Police Station sub-inspector Abzalul Haque said locals called the 'National Emergency Service Number 999' upon discovering the body in a room of the house.

"On informatiopn, police rushed to the scene and found the woman's body lying on the bed. A diary was found beside the body, but the door to the room was locked from the outside," he said.

The diary, found near the body, contained a note saying, "We are both willingly dying, no one is to blame. We are dying by our own will. I killed my wife, my wife killed me and none from this house is at fault."

The police recovered the note and the body from the scene and subsequently sent the body to a morgue for autopsy, said SI Abzalul Haque.

"It was suspected that she might have been strangled, as there was foam around her mouth, which could also indicate possible poisoning. Detailed information will be known after the autopsy report. Her husband remains unaccounted for, and finding him is crucial to unveil the full details of the incident," he said.

He added that the note found near the body will be sent for forensic analysis and legal actions will be taken upon investigation.
