Ashura on July 17

The National Moon Sighting Committee said on Saturday Bangladesh will observe the holy Ashura on July 17 as the moon of Muharram of 1446 Hijri was not sighted in the sky this evening.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religion Abdul Awal Hawladar informed this information and said, "The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting held at the conference room of Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 7:00pm."
