International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) organized its Bachelor Program autumn-2024 session orientation programme at their campus on Sunday.
Palestine Ambassador Yousef SY Ramadan was present as the chief guest while IIUC Vice-chancellor Prof Anwarul Azim Arif presided over the orientation programme.
The programme commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran and the National Anthem, followed by a documentary showcasing the essence of IIUC.
The Palestine Ambassador Yousef SY Ramadan said, ''Bangladesh has a very friendly and humane relationship with Palestine. Just as the Bengalis liberated Bangladesh through the freedom struggle, the oppressed Palestinians have been struggling for many years for an independent Palestinian state. I feel happy and honored to come to this university today.''
IIUC Board of Trustees Chairman and former Member of Parliament Prof Dr Abu Reza Md Nezamuddin Nadvi said, ''Bangladesh is always on the side of Palestine. We the IIUC family also stand with Palestine. IIUC authorities have decided to provide 50 oppressed Palestinian meritorious students with accommodation facilities free of charge.''
IIUC Vice-Chancellor Prof Anwarul Azim Arif said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman spoke for Palestine in his speech at the United Nations. The Bengali nation has always stood by the oppressed Palestinians. A new chapter in the life of the new students present today has begun.
