Khulna Jubo League leader 'hacked to death'

A local leader of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League was hacked to death by miscreants in Baniakhamar Lohargate area in Khulna city on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 45, son of Jahangir Sheikh. He was former Jubo League joint convener of ward number 27.

Police and local sources said that some unidentified miscreants, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked Al Amin around 10:00pm, leaving him critically injured. 

Later, locals rescued him and took to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared Al Amin dead.
It is learnt that Al Amin was accused of 10 different cases.

The murder might have occurred over previous dispute, said Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Khulna Sadar Police Station.

The body has been kept in Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, he added.
