Man killed in Patuakhali road crash

An elderly man was killed in a collision between two autorickshaws at Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali district on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place around 11am at in front of Bauphal Fire Service Station in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Selim Sardar, 60, a resident of Daspara village under the upazila.

Quoting witnesses, Bauuphal Police Station officer-in-charge Shonit Kumar Gayen said Selim along with his daughter-in-law was heading towards Bauphal to visit a doctor, riding on a battery-operated autorickshaw. On the way, a speeding autorickshaw collided head-on with their vehicle, leaving Selim critically injured.

He was rescued and taken to Bauphal Upazila Health Complex where the physicians decalred him dead.

On information, police seized the both vehicles from the spot said the OC adding that legal actions will be taken in this regard.
