Cattle trader killed in Dinajpur road crash

A cattle trader was killed and five others were injured after a truck hit a three-wheeler at Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur district on Thursday morning.

The incident happened at at around 10:30 am near government food warehouse at Raniganj Hat in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Azizul Haque, son of Hazrat Ali, hailed from Gaibandha's Gobindaganj upazila.   

It was learnt that a Dinajpur-bound truck hit a three wheeler, locally known as (votvoti), in the area while some cattle traders were going to Raniganj Hat along with cows riding on the three-wheeler.
Six passengers of the votvoti were injured critically.

Locals rescued them and took to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. One of the injured succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

Legal procedures are underway in this regard, said Debabrata Roy, officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station.
