Woman, boy killed in landslides

COXS BAZAR, July 11: A woman and a 10-year-old boy were killed in separate landslides caused by heavy rainfall at Sikdarpara and Polangkata here early Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Nur Jahan, 27, and Hasan, 10.
Coxs Bazar Sadar Hospital resident doctor Ashiqur Rahman said a woman and a child had died before arrival at the hospital. The bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue.

"Landslides incident occurred at different places of Coxs Bazar due to heavy rainfall, said Coxs Bazar Model Police Station OC Rakibuzzaman.  Continuous heavy rainfall since Wednesday has led to waterlogging in the low-lying areas of Coxs Bazar.
