Missing child found dead in Gaibandha

Police recovered the body of a child, who had been missing since Thursday evening, from a pond in Gaibandha's Saghata upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ripon Chondra, 07, son of Dulal Chandra, a resident of Raghobpur village under Bonarpara union in the upazila.

Family members of deceased said that Ripon had been missing since Thursday evening. They searched for him throughout the night but could not find Ripon anywhere. 

Later on Friday, family members found Ripon's floating body in a pond near his house.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Momtazul Haque, officer-in-charge of Saghata Police Station.
