Mentioning that everyone should obey court orders, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman on Friday said police will not tolerate any violation of the law.
"Everyone has obligation to follow the court order, so police will not accept any violation of the law," he said this while virtually addressing a gathering of journalists at a function organized by Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) at the Nasrul Hamid auditorium in the city, as special guest.
CRAB organized a sports competition and fruit festival with its President Kamruzzaman Khan in the chair.
Habibur Rahman said the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has given a one-month stay on the judgment of the High Court
on quota system in government jobs, adding, "Quota system in the government jobs is a matter of the court. Everyone should have faith in the court. There is an obligation to comply with court orders. I think everyone should do that."
"He said that journalists always support police to ensure justice by writing investigative reports and find out the truth. CRAB conducts various activities including sports competitions, fruit festival and other social works for wellbeing of the journalists, he added.
CRAB President Kamruzzaman thanked all the journalists and guests for attending the event despite the heavy rain. Senior Executive Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Don) and Senior Deputy Executive Md Rabiul Islam Milton were present as special guests.
