Expat woman murdered in Jashore

A woman was reportedly stabbed to death and her daughter was injured by the attack of miscreants in her residence at Nauali village in Jhikargacha upazila of Jashore district early Sunday.

The deceased was Ferdousi Khatun, wife of Altab Hossain, and the injured was her 12-year-old daughter Jannati Khatun.

Locals said Ferdous was an expat who returned from Spain about a year ago with her family for her son Ahsan Kabir Hriday's wedding. Altaf had returned to Spain after the wedding but Ferdousi with her daughter Jannatul stayed back.
Officer-in-charge of Jhikargacha Police Station Kamal Hossain Bhuiya said miscreants entered the house through the kitchen window and stabbed Ferdousi indiscriminately, leaving her dead.

Jannati informed the matter to her paternal uncle who found Ferdousi dead.

The official said it is not clear whether the miscreants entered the house in a bid to steal valuables and killed the woman, they are investigating to unearth the reason behind the  death.
