Admission test for agricultural universities postponed

The cluster admission test for nine agricultural universities for the academic year 2023-24, scheduled to be held on July 20, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.

This decision was made in an online meeting of the central admission committee held at 11:00am on Monday.
A press release from the Public Relations and Publication Department of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, reads: " The examination, which was scheduled to be held on July 20, has been postponed due to "unavoidable reasons.".

Deputy Director (Public Relations and Protocol) of the Public Relations and Publication Department of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Khalilur Rahman confirmed the news, adding that the decison was taken during a Zoom meeting, chaired by ASM Lutful Ahsan, vice-chancellor of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and President of the Central Admission Committee for the agriculture cluster.

Regarding this matter, Professor Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, a member of the central admission committee and Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), said, "A discussion meeting of the central admission committee was held on Monday (15 July). All members of the central admission committee were present at the meeting. According to the decision of the discussion meeting, the agricultural cluster admission test scheduled for 20 July has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances."

The new date and schedule for the admission exam will be announced later, the release said.

Since July 1, teachers of over 35 public universities have been observing a strike -- abstaining from all activities, demanding to cancel the new "Prottoy" pension scheme. They also demand a super grade for teachers, as well as a separate pay scale for them.
