GAIBANDHA, July 15: Flood-affected families of hard-to-reach char areas in Fulchhari Upazila of the district got relief aid and treatment facilities from Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday.
A function on Relief distribution was held at a char adjacent to Balashighat in the upazila, initiated by RAB-13.
Additional Inspector General of police, now Director General (DG) of RAB, Harun or Rashid distributed the packages of relief materials among the flood-hit families as the chief guest.
DG Harun or Rashid said, as part of the social corporate responsibility, they stood beside the flood victims to mitigate their sufferings.
The DG also urged the affluent section of the society to stand beside the flood-affected families to mitigate their sufferings caused by natural calamity and flood.
Each relief package contained rice, pulse, puffed rice and dry food.
Flood victims coming from chars also received treatment facilities including medicines from the health camp set up by the RAB.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Kamal Hossain, Commandant of RAB-13 Major Kamrul Hasan, Additional SP Abdullah Al Mamun accompanied the DG during his relief distribution.
