KAPTAI, RANGAMATI, July 16: A road from Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation (BFIDC) Government Primary School to industrial area of Battala in Kaptai Upazila has been deplorable, causing immense public sufferings.

Hundreds of locals, men of factories including labourers, and students of school, college, polytechnic, and madrasa are communicating on this road, but facing untold sufferings every day.

Numerous holes of small and big sizes have been created on the road while dumped garbage has made it worse; both public and vehicular movements have been difficult on that important road.

Many years back, the road was repaired, which was financed by the Rangamati Zilla Parishad.

A local sentient person Aktar Alam, Madrasa Teacher Mokammel Hossain, and School Teacher Selina Aktar said, the road is in need of urgent repairing again.

Students Nazmul, Saim, Helena, and Sharmin said, "We fall into holes on the road; and waste and garbage cause us pollution problems; our books, dresses, and others get damaged."

Kaptai No. 4 Union Member of Ward No. 6 Mujibur Rahman said, it is not possible to repair the road by the union budget.

Earlier, the road was repaired at the cost of the Zilla Parishad finance, he added.

If they want, the Parishad can repair it again, he maintained.
