The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has suspended issuing work visas to  Bangladeshi migrants,  Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry sources said on Tuesday.

They said that issuance was suspended in the wake of holding demonstrations by  some Bangladeshi migrants working in the UAE.
Some Bangladeshi migrants working there demonstrated due to different issues including demanding their wages and rights.
However, Expatriate Welfare Minister Secretary Md Ruhul Amin told this correspondent that they were yet to be officially informed about the development.

Whatever happened damaged Bangladeshs image in the UAE, they said.
