Man shot to death in Noakhali

NOAKHALI, July 24: A young man was shot to death by miscreants in Sonaimuri Upazila of the district recently.
The killing incident took place in Amishapara area under the upazila at around 3 pm on July 15 last.

The deceased was identified as Jasim Uddin, 30, son of Monu Mia, a resident of Sardarbari area of Satgharia Village under Amishapara Union in the upazila. He was father of a 10-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter.

According to locals, Jasim Uddin was cleaning his motorcycle on his house yard. A group of masked miscreants arrived there on motorcycles. 

An altercation ensued between the miscreants and Jasim. At that time, one of the assailants drew a pistol and shot Jasim on the chest before fleeing the scene. 

Locals rushed to the scene after hearing the gunshot and took Jasim to Sonaiamuri Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
