Curfew may be extended for limited hours, normal office timing likely from Sunday

The government has not yet taken any decision to extend or withdraw curfew across the country, it was, however, learnt that curfew may continue for limited hours though almost normalcy is back.

If  curfew is extended, it will remain only during  night and it will be relaxed during day in next few days. 

In this situation, the government offices will continue in full swing from next Sunday as panic among the government officials and employees disappeared after attending office in last two days, according to Home Ministry and Public Administration Ministry sources.

But, the educational institutions will remain closed for some more days so that no student  is harmed.

Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain told reporters  that he was not yet aware about new office hours for Sunday. It may take more time for the issue to be clear.      

However, the senior officers of Public Administration Ministry said that the panic among the officers and employees started to disappear after attending office in last two days. There has been enough improvement of  the situation to restore normal office hours. In this situation, the government may consider to restore normal office hours in next two days as the situation will further improve during the  weekend.

However, the Home Ministry sources claimed that though the situation has improved they are not yet sure that there will be no major incident in next few days. 

Considering the situation, curfew may be extend for some more days with reduced timing.

In that scenario, curfew may be there from continue 7pm to 6m every day. 

And there may be no curfew from 6am to 7pm every day.

On Wednesday, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said curfew will continue until the situation gets completely normal. 

Replying to a questions, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said on Thursday  that the government was observing the overall situation. If the situation improves curfew will be lifted, he said.

According to sources, the government wants to see what happens on Friday and it will deploy a large number of law enforcers in the capital depending on the situation, final decision may be taken on Friday.

The government thinks that the situation is satisfactory in all districts except Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Narsingdi, and the areas under the capital's two city corporations, Narayanganj City and Gazipur City.

Curfew will be lifted in all places, except the aforesaid districts, said officials. 

If curfew is lifted during the day, there will be strong surveillance on Shonir Akhra, Demra, Rayerbagh, Mohammadpur, Mirpur-10, Savar and Uttara in the capital because these places witnessed clashes which resulted in high number of causalities.
