Two boys drown in Kaptai Lake

RANGAMATI, July 26: Two teenage boys drowned in the Kaptai Lake in the district town on Friday noon. 

The incident took place in Tablachhari Art Council Colony area of the town at around 12:30 pm.

The deceased were identified as Arnab Chowdhury, 15, son of Babul Chowdhury, and Edition Saha, 16, son of Amit Saha, residents of the area. 

It was known that Arnab, Edition and one Shibam Das, 15, son of Noyon Das, were bathing in the Kaptai Lake in Tablachhari Art Council Colony area at noon. At one stage, all of them went missing there. 

Sensing the matter, locals rescued the trio and took them to Rangamati General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Arnab and Edition dead and referred Shibam to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment. 
  
Additional District Magistrate Jobaida Akhter confirmed the incident.
