Primary schools likely to reopen this week

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education will hold a meeting on Sunday over reopening the primary schools across the country.

Farid Ahmed, secretary, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, acknowledging the matter said officials of this ministry will hold a meeting over the issue on Sunday.

He said efforts are underway to reopen the government primary schools this week.

Earlier, on July 17, the ministry decided to shut down all the primary schools and non-formal education centres across the country for an indefinite period to keep the children safe from potential harms during clashes between quota reform protesters and law enforcers.
