2822 arrested in Dhaka in 243 cases: DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 2,822 people, till Monday morning, in 243 cases filed with different police stations in the capital over the violence during the recent Quota Reform Movement.

KN Roy Niyati, additional deputy commissioner of DMP Media and Public Relation, confirmed the matter on Monday (July 29).

Police are identifying and arresting those involved in the acts of violence based on detective information and CCTV footage analyses, the police official added.

Legal procedures are under process against the arrested people, KN Roy added.
