Two men found dead in Dinajpur, Rangamati

Two men have been found dead in separate incidents in two districts - Dinajpur and Rangamati, in three days.

PARBATIPUR, DINAJPUR: Police recovered the body of a man from a cropland in Parbatipur Upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The body was recovered at around 6:30 am from a green chilli field in Douania Fakirpara Village under Mominpur Union of the upazila. 

The deceased was identified as Moshiur Rahman, 45, a resident of Boro Chondipur Soitala Village under Chandipur Union in the upazila.

The deceased's family members said that Moshiur went missing after getting out of his house at around 9 pm on Sunday. After that, they searched for him throughout the night but could not find him. 

Later on, locals spotted the body of Moshiur in a green chilli field in Douania Fakirpara Village on Monday morning and informed the matter to police.

The family members claimed that Moshiur Rahman had been murdered.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Parbatipur Model Police Station (PS) Chitta Ranjan Roy confirmed the incident, adding that several teams of police are working to investigate the incident.

KAPTAI, RANGAMATI: Police recovered the decomposed body of a man from an abandoned building in Kaptai Upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Md Abul Kashem, 55, a resident of Fakirghona area under Chandraghona Union in the upazila. 

The deceased's family members lodged a general diary with Kaptai PS as Abul Kashem had been missing for the last few days. 

It was known that Abul Kashem worked at the Karnaphuli Paper Mills. On October 26 in 2023, he lost his job on charge of theft.

Police sources said locals spotted his decomposed body in an abandoned building of Karnaphuli Paper Mills at around 2 pm and informed the matter to police.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Rangamati Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
