Teen girl 'commits suicide' in Chandpur

A teenager girl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district on Monday evening.

The deceased Sumaiya Akter, 14, was daughter of Abdul Aziz and a ninth-grade student of a local high school.
According to the victim's family members, Sumaiya went to her room in the afternoon after having lunch with them.

Later, the mother saw her hanging when she entered the room as Sumaiya was not responding her calls from the inside.

Faridganj Police Station officer-in-charge Md Saidul Islam confirmed the death and added that the body was sent to a morgue for autopsy and legal actions will be taken upon receiving the autopsy report.
