An elderly man was killed and another three were injured in a road crash at Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district on Tuesday.
The incident took place on the Phulbari-Lalmonirhat road at Achiar Bazaar area in the morning.
The deceased Julhas Mia, 70, was a resident of Chandrakhan area in the upazila while the identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
According to locals, the accident occurred when a CNG-run autorickshaw with passengers was heading towards Lalmonirhat and collided head-on with a motorbike. Two passengers of the three wheeler and the motorbike driver were critically injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to Phulbari Upazila Health Complex where the physicians referred two of them, including Julhas, to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Julhas then, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Nawabur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Phulbari Police Station, confirmed the death and said that legal actions will be taken upon receiving any complaint in this regard.
