National Fisheries Week observed in Bogura

The National Fisheries Week was observed in Bogura district on Wednesday with the theme of "Varbo Machhe Moder Desh, Garbo Smart Bangladesh".

A procession was brought out from Bogura Deputy Commissioner's office around 10:30 am and circled the main roads of the town organized by Bogura District Fisheries Department.
Later, a discussion was held at Bogura Zilla Parishad Auditorium presided over by Bogura Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam where Bogura-6 MP Ragebul Ahsan Ripu was the chief guest. 

Bogura Sadar Upazila Chairman Subhashish Poddar Liton, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Feroza Parveen spoke as special guests at the programme while District Fisheries Officer Kalipad Roy delivered welcome speech.

Speakers at the discussion said we are self-sufficient in fish production. However, the fish farmers should focus on the production of our indigenous species of fish. Without it native fish will become extinct.

At the end of the discussion, two fish farmers were awarded. Later, the Deputy Commissioner released local fish in the Zilla Parishad pond.
