A Dhaka court has placed BNP Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and banned Jamaat's General Secretary Mia Golam Parwar on a three-day remand in connection with a case for vandalising Banani's Setu Bhaban during the recent quota reform movement.
Other remanded accused are BNP Organising Secretary Kazi Syedul Alam Babul, its Publicity Affairs Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, the party's Dhaka North City unit Member Secretary Aminul Haque, party's Bagerhat district unit convener MA Salam.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam placed the accused on remand on Thursday when police applied for a seven-day remand showing them arrested in connection with the Setu Bhaban vandalism case.
Police produced the accused before the court on completion of a five-day remand in another case filed for an arson attack at Kazipara Metrorail Station in the capital.
On the other hand, another court ordered to send Gana Adhikar Parishad convener and former DUCSU VP Nurul Huq Nur and BNP supporter Mahmudus Salehin to jail.
The court sources said as many as 63 accused arrested in different police station areas in the capital were produced before the court on Thursday. Then the court ordered to send them to jail.
Earlier, 119 on July 21, 355 on July 22, 467 on July 23, 423 on July 24, 234 on July 25, 284 on July 26, 172 on July 27, 131 on July 28, 105 on July 29, 134 on July 30 and 76 on July 31 were sent to prisons.
