Three minors drown in Lalmonirhat, Chandpur

Three minor children including two brothers drowned in separate incidents in two districts - Lalmonirhat and Chandpur, on Thursday.

PATGRAM, LALMONIRHAT: Two minor brothers drowned in a pond in Patgram Upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased were identified as Milon Hossain, 11, and Muzahid Hossain, 9, sons of Robiul Islam, residents of Prodanpara area under Kushlibari Union in the upazila.

It was known that the two brothers drowned in the pond near their house while they were bathing in it at noon.
Later on, the family members recovered their bodies from the pond with the help of locals.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patgram Police Station (PS) Abu Sayed Chowdhury confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case has been filed in this regard.

CHANDPUR: A minor child drowned in a pond while bathing in it in Haziganj Upazila of the district on Thursday noon. 
The incident took place in Matoino Village under Haziganj Sadar Union of the upazila at around 12:30 pm. 

The deceased was identified as Abir Hossain, 6, son of expatriate Md Eakub Hossain, a resident of the aforesaid area. 
It was known that Abir went to bathe in a pond near his house after playing football at noon. At one stage, he drowned in the pond. 

Later on, the family members saw his floating shoes in the pond and informed the Haziganj Fire Service Station. 
On information, divers from Haziganj Fire Service rushed to the scene and recovered his body from the pond.

Confirming the incident, Haziganj PS OC Md Abdur Rashid said that the body was handed over to the deceased's family members as no allegation received from them.
